SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), March 20 (SeeNews) – Most of the share indices of Bosnia's two stock exchanges, in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, closed down on Friday, compared to the values recorded a week earlier, bourse data showed.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) closed at 734.56 points on Friday, down 4.03%.
The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, fell by 0.79% to a closing value of 1,253.16.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, closed 3.93% higher at 897.04 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by the SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), lost 4.53% this week to 9,531.72 points. The index is tracking 25 companies.
SASE’s total trading turnover rose to 6.55 million marka ($3.6 million/3.3 million euro) this week, from 5 million marka last week. This week's turnover was generated in 89 transactions.
SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 607.53 points, down 2.21% from last Friday's closing value.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] generated the largest trading turnover, of 190,441 marka, on the BLSE this week. The company's shares closed at 0.88 marka on Friday, down 1.68% in comparison with the March 13 closing price.
BLSE’s total trading turnover fell to 559,612 marka, from 1.4 million marka last week.This week's turnover was generated in 112 transactions.
