January 6 (SeeNews) - The main share indices of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) closed lower on Friday, compared with the values a week earlier, while the benchmark index of the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), ended the week higher, bourse data showed.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE closed at 1,056.99 points on Friday, down 0.09% compared with a week earlier, while the broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, dipped 0.01% to end at 1,735.35 points.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, ended flat at 829.13 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by the SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), closed at 11,295.34 points, 0.07% lower compared with a week earlier. The index tracks 25 companies.
SASE’s turnover dropped to just 93,102 marka ($51,000/48,000 euro) this trading week, compared to 18.7 million marka last week, as a total of 6,049 shares changed hands in 12 transactions.
Power utility Elektroprivreda BiH [SAJ:JPESR] generated the largest trading turnover, of 75,744 marka, on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange this week. The company's shares ended at 16 marka on Friday, flat compared to January 5.
The SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The BLSE is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
The benchmark index of the BLSE, the BIRS, closed at 842.17 points on Thursday, up 0.15% compared to its closing value recorded a week earlier. On Friday the bourse was closed due to the Orthodox Christmas, a public and market holiday.
The BLSE's total trading turnover fell to 1.2 million marka this week from 2.9 million marka last week, as 47 transactions were carried out.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] generated the largest trading turnover, of 327,200 marka, on the BLSE's official market this week. The company's shares closed at 1.63 marka on Thursday, up 0.62% compared with the previous day.
