December 23 (SeeNews) - The main share indices of Bosnia and Herzegovina's two stock exchanges, the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) and the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), closed lower on Friday, compared with the values a week earlier, bourse data showed.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE ended Friday's session at 1,054.20 points, down 0.432% compared with a week earlier.
The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, fell 0.19% compared to a week earlier - to 1,736.48 points.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, dropped 0.35% to 830.10 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by the SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), closed at 11,283.69 points, 0.29% lower compared with a week earlier. The index tracks 25 companies.
SASE’s turnover came in at 721,897 marka ($391,748/369,100 euro) this trading week, compared to 815,041 marka last week, as a total of 288,891 shares changed hands in 67 transactions.
Pharmaceutical company Bosnalijek [SAJ:BSNLR] generated the largest trading turnover, of 28,478 marka, on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange this week. The company's shares last traded on the bourse on December 20, when they closed flat at 29 marka.
The SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The BLSE is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
The benchmark index of the BLSE, the BIRS, closed at 863.73 points on Friday, down 0.39% compared to its closing value recorded a week earlier.
The BLSE's total trading turnover jumped to 67.86 million marka this week from 19.2 million marka last week, as 117 transactions were carried out.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] generated the largest trading turnover, of 98,385 marka, on the BLSE's official market this week. The company's shares closed at 1.62 marka on Friday, up 1.25%.
