December 16 (SeeNews) - The main share indices of the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) closed mixed on Friday, compared with the values a week earlier, while the benchmark index of Bosnia's other stock exchange, in Banja Luka, fell, bourse data showed.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE ended Friday's session at 1,058.74 points, up 0.32% compared with its closing reading of 1,055.38 points a week earlier.
The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE fell 0.30% compared to a week earlier - to 1,739.80 points.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, closed flat at 832.65 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by the SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), closed at 11,316.30 points, 0.33% up compared with a week earlier. The index tracks 25 companies.
SASE’s turnover came in at 815,041 marka ($443,100/416,700 euro) this trading week, compared to 10.5 million marka last week, as a total of 62,186 shares changed hands in 78 transactions.
Pharmaceutical company Bosnalijek [SAJ:BSNLR] generated the largest trading turnover, of 20,938 marka, on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange this week. The company's shares closed at 29 marka on the SASE on December 15, unchanged compared with the previous day.
The SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
The benchmark index of the BLSE, the BIRS, closed at 867.07 points on Friday, down 0.03% compared to its closing value recorded a week earlier.
The BLSE's total trading turnover jumped to 19.2 million marka this week from 339,432 marka last week, as 156 transactions were carried out.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] generated the largest trading turnover, of 621,371 marka, on the BLSE's official market this week. The company's shares closed at 1.60 marka on Friday, unchanged from the previous day.
