MOSTAR (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 21 (SeeNews) – Bosnia’s number three mobile telephone network operator, HT MObilne Telekomunikacije, popularly known as Eronet, has raised its market share from 17% to 20% in the first nine months of this year after attracting 180,000 new clients, Bosnian media reported on Wednesday.
Eronet’s revenue increased by 27% on the year for the period January through September, business news portal Capital.ba reported without elaborating. It will open outlets in at least six new locations in Bosnia, adding to the 30 existing shops it has across the country, Capital.ba added.
Eronet, part of Bosnia’s third largest telecoms operator, HT Mostar, said in a statement it expected its client base to exceed 500,000 by January 1. No company official was available for comment on Wednesday.
It is the number three in the market behind BH Mobile and M:tel, which are parts of the biggest telecommunications group, BH Telecom, and the second biggest, Telekom Srpske, respectively.
The government of Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation, where HT Mostar and BH Telecom are based, owns 50.103% of HT Mostar and 90% of BH Telecom. The Federation is one of the two autonomous parts of war-divided Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic.
Telekom Srpske is based in the Serb Republic and is 65% owned by Serbia’s state-controlled Telekom Srbija.
