SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 20 (SeeNews) – Bosnian state-controlled brown coal mine operator RMU Banovici said that four companies have filed bids in the second stage of the tender for a potential partner that will finance and build a 350 MW thermal power plant (TPP).
Bids have been filed by Shanghai Electric Group Company, China Gezhouba Group Company and Dongfang Electric Corporation from China as well as by Spain’s Abengoa SA&Electric International, the Banovici mine said in a statement on Wednesday.
A preliminary review of the submitted offers indicated they comply with the relevant terms of the tender.
In the third stage of the tender, the Banovici will invite the qualified bidders to submit their final technical and financial offers. A consortium of three consultancy firms - VPC, KPMG B-HA and Wolf Theiss, has been selected to advise the company during the tender’s third stage.
The estimated cost of the Banovici 1 TPP project is 584 million euro ($665 million), the government of the Muslim-Croat Federation said earlier.
RMU Banovici is one of the biggest coal mines in the Federation, one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
