SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), August 30 (SeeNews) – Bosnian insurer ASA Osiguranje said on Wednesday its net profit rose to 519,121 marka ($316,100/265,422 euro) in the first half of 2017, from 408,714 marka in the like period of last year.
The gross written premiums of the insurer surged 17.5% on the year to 11.9 million marka in the first six months of 2017, ASA Osiguranje said in a Sarajevo bourse filing.
In the first half of the year, ASA Osiguranje's operating expenses increased to 4.1 million marka from 3.4 million marka in the corresponding period of 2016.
In 2015, ASA Osiguranje, based in Bosnia's Federation entity, extended its operations to the other entity, the Serb Republic, where it opened five branch offices. In the Federation, it runs 7 branch offices.
ASA Osiguranje is one of the youngest insurance companies in Bosnia. It started operations in October 2007 and is part of ASA Group, which comprises some 20 companies active in consulting, marketing and financial services and in the import and sale of motor vehicles and auto parts.
