SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), December 4 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Bosnian insurer ASA Osiguranje increased to 776,399 marka ($470,275/396,967 euro) in the first nine months of 2017, from 608,804 marka in the prior-year period, the company said on Monday.
Gross written premiums rose 16% year-on-year to 17.5 million marka in in the period January-September, while net operating costs dropped 15.2% to 6.3 million marka, ASA Osiguranje said in an interim financial report filed with the Sarajevo Stock Exchange.
In 2015, ASA Osiguranje, which is based in Bosnia's Federation entity, extended its operations to the other entity, the Serb Republic, where it opened five branch offices. In the Federation, it runs seven branch offices.
ASA Osiguranje is one of the youngest insurance companies in Bosnia. It started operations in October 2007 and is part of the ASA Group, which comprises some 20 companies active in consulting, marketing and financial services and in the import and sale of motor vehicles and auto parts.
