SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), December 21 (SeeNews) – Bosnian metallurgical coke producer Global Ispat Coking Industry Lukavac (GIKIL) has completed a 300,000 marka ($175,200/153,400 euro) investment in devices improving the testing of raw materials and products, the company said.
The company installed a device for determining the content of sulfur in coal and coke, a chromatograph for testing gases, and a disc mill for the preparation of chemical analyses, GIKIL said in a statement on Thursday.
"This investment is of great importance for the testing of our raw materials and products. The most important thing is that the equipment provides realistic and accurate results," the director of the company's factory, Huso Jasarevic, has said.
GIKIL has also launched a project for the installation of a device for the analysis of ash, volatile matter and moisture by simultaneously measuring as many as 19 samples, the director of the quality control unit of the company, Edib Dzibric, noted.
Global Ispat Koksna Industrija (GIKIL), which employs some 1,000 people, is majority owned by the Tuzla canton, one of the ten cantons in the Federation. Indian steel maker Ispat Group owns a minority stake in the company.
