May 14 (SeeNews) - Bosnia will begin tendering for the construction of priority motorway sections along the European transport Corridor Vc, worth a combined 235 million euro ($281.3 million), in the second half of the year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has said.
The state of Bosnia and Herzegovina intends using the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD in the amount of 120 million euro and a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the amount of 90 million euro to finance the project, the EBRD said in a statement on Friday.
The project will require the construction of section Tarcin-Konjic, subsection Tarcin-Ivan (length = 6.8 km):LOT 2 Tunnel Ivan (length = 2 km); and the construction of section Poprikuse-Nemila (length = 5.1 km).
Consultancy services will also be sought: for supervision of the section Tarcin-Konjic, subsection Tarcin-Ivan and Tunnel Ivan; supervision of the section Poprikuse-Nemila; and project implementation unit support.
Corridor Vc is the main international transport corridor in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its development is a strategic priority for the country. The road is part of the Western Balkans Core Network. It has been established as an extension of the Trans-European Transport Networks and will eventually link the Hungarian capital Budapest with the Croatian port of Ploce.
