July 17 (SeeNews) - Bosnian state-owned company Autoceste FBiH will launch next month the construction of the 11.75 km long Pocitelj-Zvirovici motorway section, part of European transport Corridor Vc, local media reported on Wednesday.
The machines of the Chinese construction companies, which will build the motorway section, will arrive by the middle of August at the construction site, news daily Dnevni Avaz quoted the head of Autoceste FBiH, Adnan Terzic, as saying.
The construction of the Pocitelj-Zvirovici section worth an estimated 100 million euro ($112 million) is divided into two lots.
In June, Autoceste FBiH hired China State Construction Engineering Corporation as contractor for Lot 1 and a consortium of Azerbaijan's Azvirt, China' Sinohydro Corporation and Power China Road Bridge Group for Lot 2. Back then, it said the value of Lot 1 is 56.5 million euro, while Lot 2 is valued at 28.1 million euro, in both cases without VAT.
Terzic noted that Autoceste FBiH has to bring in the contractors to the construction site within 52 days after the signing of the deals.
The construction of the Pocitelj-Zvirovici section is being financed by a loan from the European Investment Bank.
Works on Lot 1 should be completed within 24 months after the start, while the construction of Lot 2, which includes the Pocitelj bridge, will take 30 months to complete.
The Pocitelj bridge, 945 metres in length, will connect the banks of the Neretva river in southern Bosnia.
European Corridor Vc connects the port of Ploce in Croatia with Hungarian capital Budapest via Bosnia.
