May 27 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Federation plans to soon launch a tender for the pre-qualification of contractors for the construction of the Prenj road tunnel, part of the Bosnian section of pan-European Corridor Vc, it said.
"A pre-qualification tender for the contractor on this large infrastructure project will be announced soon, so that this demanding project for the Prenj tunnel can start as soon as possible," the Federation government said in a statement earlier this week.
The financing of the Mostar North-Mostar South section of Corridor Vc was completed, the Federation government said after a meeting of prime minister Fadil Novalic with Susan Goeransson, Director Infrastructure Europe at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The whole project for the construction of the Prenj tunnel is estimated at 600 million euro ($642.5 million), financed by loans from the EBRD and European Investment Bank (EIB), as well as grants from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).
European transport Corridor Vc has a total length of 700 km and connects the Adriatic port of Ploce in Croatia with Budapest in Hungary via Bosnia. Its length in Bosnia is some 340 km.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
