SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), December 12 (SeeNews) – Bosnia and Herzegovina launched a new 10 km section of Corridor Vc between the towns of Svilaj and Odzak on Monday, the government of the Federation said.
This section represents the northernmost part of the Corridor Vc in Bosnia and Herzegovina and has a strategic importance for the construction of the entire motorway, the Federation's government said in a statement on Monday.
The works were partly funded with a loan from the EBRD. The Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) approved a grant of 17.5 million euro (20.6 million euro) for the project.
The Svilaj-Odzak motorway section will connect Bosnia to Croatia once the Svilaj bridge over the Sava river is completed. The construction of the bridge began in September last year.
Corridor Vc connects the port of Ploce in Croatia with Budapest in Hungary via Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Federation is one of two entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Serb Republic.
