October 26 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists in Bosnia's Muslim-Croat Federation in August rose by 12% on the year to 34,244, official statistics showed on Friday.
Tourists spent 93,054 overnights in the Federation in August, up by 12.9% as compared to August 2006. Foreign nationals accounted for two-thirds of the tourists and overnights in August this year.
The number of tourists who travelled to or across the Federation in the first eight months of this year rose by an annual 17.9% to 233,314, the Federal Office of Statistics said.
Most foreign tourists in the Federation came from Croatia, followed by tourists from Slovenia, Italy and Poland.
The Muslim-Croat Federation is one of the two autonomous parts forming war-divided Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic.
