SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 31 (SeeNews) – Bosnia's state-level government said it has mandated the finance ministry to negotiatiate a 6.5 million euro ($7.2 million) loan deal with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the proceeds of which will be used to finance a water supply project in the city of Brcko.
The project envisages the construction of a 14 kilometre long water mains from Plazulje to Potocari, as well as sections of the water supply network of the city and other parts of Brcko District, the Council of Ministers said in a statement on Thursday.
The tenor of the loan is 15 years, including a three-year grace period.
After the negotiating the loan with the EBRD, Bosnia's finance ministry will deliver the draft agreement to the Council of Ministers for further consideration.
Brcko is a city and administrative seat of the Brcko District, a self-governing administrative unit in northeastern Bosnia.
