"Bosch has expanded production activity in Blaj in recent years, so we have decided to invest in a new building to support this growth and provide enough space for new projects that will contribute to the long-term development of the plant," the general manager of Bosch's Blaj production plant, Dirk Arnold, said.
Bosch has been present in Blaj since 2007, where it manufactures industrial electronics equipment and electronic components for the automotive sector.
In March, Bosch announced it has started the construction of its own engineering centre in the Romanian northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca, an investment project worth 25 million euro.
Also in March, BSH Hausgeraete GmbH, a company of the Bosch Group, said it plans to invest 110 million euro in a new washing machine factory in western Romania. BSH plans to start production at the future factory in 2020.
The Bosch Group has been present on the Romanian market for 24 years and has approximately 6,500 employees in four entities - an R&D center in Cluj, two production units for mobility solutions in Cluj and Blaj, and an outsourcing service center Business Processes in Timisoara.
In Bucharest, Bosch operates a sales office for its mobility solutions, consumer goods and construction and energy technology divisions.
