November 24 (SeeNews) - Estonian online transportation platform Bolt said on Tuesday it has expanded its ride-hailing service in Romania to include the city of Brasov.
Brasov, in central Romania, is the sixth city in the country in which Bolt has launched services, the company said in a press release.
"It is not a random choice, we wanted to reach the center of the most important tourist region in the country in time for the winter holidays. With the presence in Brasov, we will also be able to facilitate transport to and from Poiana Brasov, Predeal, Bran, Rasnov and other tourist destinations in the surroundings, at a time when the number of tourists is increasing significantly," Bolt Romania country manager Cristian Salceanu said.
Earlier this month, Bolt expanded its services to the north-eastern city of Iasi and the Black Sea port city of Constanta.
Formerly known as Taxify, Bolt has been present in Romania since 2016, and currently operates in Bucharest, Timisoara, Constanta, Cluj Iasi and Brasov.
Besides passenger transport services, Bolt also offers electric scooter rental services and food and other product deliveries in Romania.
Bolt was founded in 2013 in Estonia and currently has over 1 million drivers in over 35 countries, and over 30 million registered users.
