September 28 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) extended their losing streak on Wednesday amidst losses in the blue chips, data showed.
The 22-share CROBEX shed 1.02% to close at 1,915.82 points, falling for a ninth day in a row. The narrower index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, declined 0.87% to close at 1,133.35 points, extending its losing streak for a fourth day.
Shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] was the most traded company with a turnover of 1.4 million kuna ($181,000/186,000 euro). Its shares fell 2.91% to close at 400 kuna.
Index heavyweight Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] shed 2.20% to end at 178 kuna in a turnover of 1.0 million kuna.
Among the other blue chips, in lower turnovers, hotel owner and operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] fell 1.03%, food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] lost 1.06%, hotel owner and manager Arena Hospitality [ZSE:ARNT] dropped 2.52%, preferred shares of holding company Adris [ZSE:ADRS2] dipped 0.26%, and ICT solutions provider Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT] went down 0.94%.
Shipping company Tankerska Next Generation [ZSE:TPNG], which is part of the CROBEX, but not a constituent of the CROBEX10, dropped 3.57% following recent gains in the last five trading days when its majority owner, peer Tankerska Plovidba, was increasing its share in it.
Hotel owner Turisthotel [ZSE:TUHO] was the only gainer among the top 10 companies by turnover on Wednesday. Its shares appreciated 0.48% to end at 4,160 kuna. It is not part of the main indices.
The bourse's total trading turnover plunged to 8 million kuna from 89.8 million kuna on Tuesday, when it was boosted by a 70.2 million kuna block deal with shares of Tankerska Next Generation.
