LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 23 (SeeNews) – The Slovenian subsidiary of Austria’s BKS Bank said it is taking over the management of financial instruments of over 9,000 clients of local brokerage house Gorenjska borznoposredniska druzba (GBD), strengthening its presence on the local market.
According to an agreement signed by BKS Bank Slovenia and GBD, from April 30 the bank will take over the management of GBD's domestic and foreign financial instruments, cash and other assets of clients, as well as the management of dematerialised securities, the bank said in a statement on Thursday.
"We look forward to more than 9,000 new customers expected on the basis of the contract with GBD," said BKS Bank board chairman, Herta Stockbauer.
BKS Bank entered the Slovenian market in 1998 with the purchase of a leasing company, today's BKS Leasing. Currently, BKS Bank Slovenia operates seven banking units and a leasing company, employing more than 100 people.
