March 29 (SeeNews) - German car parts supplier Behr-Hella Thermocontrol (BHTC) said on Thursday it plans to open a fifth production line in its plant near Bulgarian capital Sofia in 2018.
The expansion comes as a result of increased demand for the company's products as well as contracts that BHTC has already signed with new customers, the company said in a statement.

BHTC employs more than 450 in its plant in Bozhourishte, on the outskirts of Sofia. The company's main products include control panels and control units for vehicle air conditioning, climate sensors, blower controllers. BHTC covers the entire process from product design to the manufacturing of complete climate control systems.
The expansion of Bulgarian operations has contributed significantly for the growth of the German company's revenues, BHTC added.
Lippstad-headquartered BHTC has production facilities in Germany, the US, Mexico, China, Japan and India. The company supplies parts to auto industry giants such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo and Porsche.
