BELGRADE (Serbia), July 16 (SeeNews) – Serbian company Belgrade Waterfront, the developer of an eponymous real estate project in the capital city, said it has completed the construction of the BW Residences building.
BW Residences includes 296 modern apartments having between two and five bedrooms each, Belgrade Waterfront said in an e-mailed statement on Saturday.
"With the completion of BW Residences, we are reviving a vision of creating a better future. I promise that we will continue to realise this vision in the future, so that we make the capital of Serbia even more beautiful. Belgrade Waterfront is a project that is especially pleasing to me because I see its enormous potential," said Mohamed Alabbar, president of United Arab Emirates-based Eagle Hills which owns Belgrade Waterfront.
"The completion of the construction of this building marks the beginning of a new chapter. We have fulfilled the promise - we have succeeded in transforming the once-abandoned coast into one of the most beautiful parts of the capital in the very centre," Belgrade Waterfront's CEO Nikola Nedeljkovic said.
The Belgrade Waterfront project should see the development of around 177 ha of land on the right bank of the river Sava into a mixed-use residential, office and retail scheme, offering 5,700 housing units, 2,200 hotel rooms and capacity to accommodate 12,700 office population.
A total of six buildings were under construction by Belgrade Waterfront and 1,500 employees were working at the construction site daily, Belgrade mayor Sinisa Mali said in May.
