BELGRADE (Serbia), August 15 (SeeNews) – Aerodrom Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO], the operator of Serbia's Belgrade airport, said on Wednesday its net profit rose 3.5% on the year to 1.4 billion dinars ($13.4 milion/11.9 million euro) in the first half of 2018.
Revenue increased 9.1% to 4.7 billion dinars in the first half of 2018, while operating expenses rose 16% to 2.3 billion dinars, Aerodrom Nikola Tesla said in a filing with the Belgrade Stock Exchange.
Revenues from the sales of products and services reached 4.3 billion dinars in the first six months of 2018, up from 3.9 billion dinars a year earlier.
The airport serviced record-high 2.464 million passengers in the first half of 2018, up 7% year-on-year.
Serbia's government said in March it signed a 25-year concession agreement for the operation of the airport with France's Vinci Airports. Under the terms of the agreement, Vinci Airports will pay 417 million euro ($472.4 million) to the Serbian government and 84 million euro to the retail shareholders of Aerodrom Nikola Tesla for the concession plus an annual concession fee of between 4.4 million euro and 15.1 million euro.
The Serbian government owns 83.1% of Aerodrom Nikola Tesla.
