BELGRADE (Serbia), December 14 (SeeNews) – The city of Belgrade has invited bids for contract to reconstruct four central streets, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is providing the financing for the project, said.
The project, which is aimed at improving the public transport infrastructure in the Serbian capital, will include the reconstruction of the Kraljice Marije, 27 Marta, Dzordza Vasingtona and Cara Dusana streets, the bank said in a statement on Thursday.
The contractor will be in charge of the reconstruction of tram tracks, refurbishment of existing pavement structure, sidewalks and overhead contact lines, and installation of new public lightning, traffic signalisation and management systems, the EBRD said.
The bidding deadline is February 11.
The City of Belgrade will invest a total of 20 million euro ($22.6 million) in the project and will use the proceeds of an extension to an existing loan from the EBRD to finance the project, the bank said in September.
