BELGRADE (Serbia), April 17 (SeeNews) – Serbia's main airport, in Belgrade, serviced 1.035 million passengers in the first quarter of 2019, up 3.7% on the year, its operator - France's Vinci Airports, said.
In the 12 months ended March 2019, the number of passengers serviced by Belgrade international airport rose 5.3% to 5.678 million passengers, Vinci Airports said in a statement last week.
Vinci Airports officially took over the management of Belgrade airport in December.
In March 2018, Vinci Airports signed a 25-year concession contract covering the airport’s financing, operation, maintenance, extension and upgrade. Under the terms of the deal, Vinci Airports will pay 417 million euro ($471.6 million) to the Serbian government and 84 million euro to the retail shareholders of Aerodrom Nikola Tesla for the concession plus an annual concession fee of between 4.4 million euro and 15.1 million euro.
Belgrade serviced record-high 5.641 million passengers in 2018, up 5.4% year-on-year.
