July 27 (SeeNews) - The state-owned operator of the Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade is interested in the acquisition of a 49% stake in Sava congress centre in the Serbian capital, the biggest in the country, and is ready to invest 30 million euro ($32.9 milion) in its transformation, local media reported on Tuesday.
In March the airport submitted with the Belgrade authorities a non-binding offer for the congress centre and is now expecting a public call for submission of binding bids, daily Blic reported, quoting the airport's managing director Sasa Vlaisavljevic.

If its bid is approved, the Nikola Tesla airport operator would move its management and operational services to the congress centre and transform it to accommodate a shopping centre and a hotel, Vlaisavljevic added. The venue would be renamed to Congress Centre Airport Nikola Tesla.
The Sava congress centre has a total area of 100,000 sq m, including a 4,000-seat thatre hall, 15 conference halls, an exhibition area, restaurants, bars, offices and shops.
