July 13 (SeeNews) - The operations of multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company Bayer in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova generated a turnover of over 357 million euro ($422.8 million) last year, the company's Bulgarian unit said.
In 2019, Bayer's turnover from operations in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova reached 335 million euro.

Bayer's crop science division contributed 62% to the total 2020 turnover in this country group, the pharmaceuticals division generated 29% and the consumer health division 9%, Bayer Bulgaria said in a press release made available to SeeNews on Monday.
With the seed production facility in Sinesti, Romania, Bayer reached seeds exports of over 43 million euro in 2020, Bayer Bulgaria added.
Lyuba Paounova has been appointed as the new managing director of Bayer Bulgaria, the company also said in the same press release. She will combine the new position with the current one of country group head of human relations in Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova.
At the same time, Jorge Levinson becomes country commercial lead Bayer Pharmaceuticals for Bulgaria adding to his current role of country commercial lead pharmaceuticals for Romania and Moldova, based in Bucharest, the company said.
Ekaterina Karpuzova, currently country commercial lead pharmaceuticals and managing director of Bayer Bulgaria, continues her professional career in Bayer Pharmaceuticals as manager business operations and innovation for the region of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Basel, Switzerland.
Bayer has over 480 employees in the three countries, with the main offices located in Romania's Bucharest and Bulgaria's Sofia.
Bayer, headquartered in Germany's Leverkusen, is managed as a life science company with three divisions - pharmaceuticals, consumer health and crop science - and an animal health business unit.
In fiscal 2020, the Bayer Group employed around 100,000 people and had sales of 41.4 billion euro, according to the press release.
