February 8 (SeeNews) - New battery electric vehicle (EV) registrations in Romania soared 221.8% to 605 in 2018 - the third sharpest growth among EU member states, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, ACEA, said.
Hybrid EV registrations in Romania grew 88.6% to 3,845 in 2018, ACEA said in a statement on Thursday.
Other alternatively powered vehicle registrations increased 34.6% to 1,359 last year.
Data for plug-in hybrid electric vehicle registrations in the country was not available.
Petrol car registrations rose 45.4% to 71,880, while new diesel cars fell 1% to 53,228.
