October 17 (SeeNews) - British American Tobacco (BAT) holds a 30% market share in Serbia at present, the company's general manager for Serbia and Montenegro, Sotiris Kostouros, said.
"We are proud to say that Pall Mall is the number one tobacco brand in Serbia," Kostouros said on Tuesday during the official ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of BAT in Serbia, according to a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug.
BAT has contributed about 2 billion euro ($2.3 billion) to Serbia's state budget since 2003, prime minister Ana Brnabic said during the official ceremony, according to the video file.
In May 2016, BAT opened a new production line worth 5 million euro at its plant in Vranje, in southern Serbia. The facility increased the plant's output capacity by 40%, making it a production hub for the Central European Free Trade Agreement member states.
