November 17 (SeeNews) - The net profit of the banking sector in Bosnia's Serb Republic rose to 95.8 million marka ($55.4 million/49 million euro) in the first nine months of 2021, up 60% year-on-year, the entity's banking agency figures showed.
The combined revenue of the eight banks operating in the entity increased by 9% year-on-year in the nine months through September, to 368 million marka, whereas total expenses fell 5% to 263.9 million marka, according to data published by the Banking Agency of Bosnia's Serb Republic.
Net interest income rose to 227.9 million marka from 220.1 million marka in the first nine months of 2020.
Total loans amounted to 5.7 billion marka at the end of September, up 3% from the end of December. Deposits totalled 7.3 billion marka, up 12% compared with the end-2020 figure.
The total assets of the banks operating in the Serb Republic rose to 10.6 billion marka at the end of September, from 9.7 billion marka at the end of 2020.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Federation.
