February 1 (SeeNews) - Total trading turnover of Bosnia's Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) plunged to 9.1 million marka ($5.1 million/4.7 million euro) in January, compared with 99.2 million marka generated in December, the bourse said.
Equity turnover from regular trading on the BLSE totalled 2.1 million marka in January, lower than 2.7 million marka in the prior month, the bourse said in a monthly report on Tuesday.
The BLSE's total trading turnover amounted to nearly 9.4 million marka in January 2022.
A total of 259 transactions were concluded on the Banja Luka bourse in January, compared with 531 in the previous month and 261 transactions in January 2022.
The BLSE's total market capitalisation amounted to 4.68 billion marka in January, slightly down from 4.72 billion marka the prior month. The bourse's total market capitalisation came in at 4.3 billion marka in January 2022.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 836.43 points at the end of January, down 0.53% compared to the end-December value and 0.76% lower compared with its closing value at the end of January 2022.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] contributed the largest portion of total trading turnover among the companies on the BLSE in January, of 767,733 marka. The company's shares closed 0.62% lower at 1.59 marka on Tuesday. They did not trade by 11:17 CET on Wednesday.
The BLSE is based in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) is based in the other entity, the Federation.
