June 1 (SeeNews) - Total trading turnover of Bosnia's Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) increased to 62.2 million marka ($33.9 million/31.8 million euro) in May, compared with 6.8 million marka generated in April, the bourse said on Thursday.
Equity turnover from regular trading on the BLSE totalled 2.1 million marka in May, slightly lower than 2.2 million marka in the prior month, the bourse said in a monthly report.
The BLSE's total trading turnover amounted to 64.1 million marka in May 2022.
A total of 533 transactions were concluded on the Banja Luka bourse in May, compared with 380 in the previous month and 398 transactions in May 2022.
The BLSE's total market capitalisation amounted to 4.66 billion marka in May, slightly down from 4.77 billion marka the prior month. The bourse's total market capitalisation came in at 4.35 billion marka in May 2022.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 771.87 points at the end of May, down 5.10% compared to the end-April value and 2.48% lower compared with its closing value at the end of May 2022.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] contributed the largest portion of total trading turnover among the companies on the BLSE in May, of 1.4 million marka. The company's shares closed the month at 1.46 marka, down from 1.67 marka at the end of April.
The BLSE is based in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) is based in the other entity, the Federation.
