July 29 (SeeNews) - Croatia's Hrvatska Postanska Banka (HPB) [ZSE:HPB] said on Friday it closed the first half of 2022 with a consolidated net profit of 1.066 bln kuna ($145 million/142 million euro) mostly due to a 1.019 billion kuna badwill from the acquisition of Sberbank d.d., the local unit of Russia's Sberbank.
The consolidated operating profit for the first half of the year stood at 99 million kuna, HPB said in a filing to the Zagreb bourse without providing comparative figures for the relevant year-ago period.

In March, HPB, Croatia's sixth largest lender by assets, acquired the country's eighth largest bank, Sberbank d.d., for a total cash consideration of 71 million kuna. HPB took control of Sberbank on April 14 and changed its name to Nova Hrvatska Banka (NHB).
The consolidated revenue from interest rates totalled 320 million kuna in the first half of 2022, net revenue from commissions and fees amunted to 114.4 million kuna, and consolidated total loss from trading was 29.2 million kuna.
HPB group's operating revenue amounted to 405.6 million kuna.

Shares of HPB gained 2.38% to close at 860 kuna on the Zagreb bourse on Friday.
