SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 7 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria has recorded the lowest hourly labour costs of 4.4 euro ($4.7) among 28 EU member states in 2016 despite a year-on-year increase of almost eight percent, the bloc's statistical office announced.
The largest annual increase in hourly labour costs of SEE EU member states in 2016 were registered in Romania with 11.6%, followed by Bulgaria with 7.8%. Hourly labour costs in Romania and Croatia totalled 5.5 euro and 10 euro, respectively, last year.
The highest hourly labour costs among SEE member states were recorded in Slovenia, 16.2 euro, below the EU average of 25.4 euro, Eurostat said in a press release on Thursday.
