October 15 (SeeNews) - Austrian gaming group Novomatic has acquired Casino Riviera in Slovenia's Portoroz, taking to nine the number of casinos it operates in the Adriatic state, local media reported.
Novomatic is said to have paid 10 million euro ($11 million) for the acquisition, which was carried out via its representatives in Slovenia - local company Novo Investicije, news daily Delo reported last week, quoting unnamed sources.

Novomatic completed the purchase of Casino Princess in the town of Nova Gorica in June, Delo said.
The Novomatic Group, founded by Austrian businessman Johann Graf in 1980, is one of the biggest international producers and operators of gaming technologies, employing more than 30,000 people worldwide.
The group has locations in more than 50 countries and exports high-tech electronic gaming equipment and solutions to more than 70 countries. Its core markets are the EU member states, as well as the countries in Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe.
The group operates around 255,000 gaming terminals and video lottery terminals (VLTs).
