September 20 (SeeNews) - Austrian technology group Andritz said its unit Andritz Hydro has received an order as part of a consortium to supply Turkish energy firm Kalehan Enerji with generators for its planned 636 megawatt (MW) hydropower plant (HPP) in Turkey.
The 30 million euro ($41 million) deal envisages the supply, installation and commissioning of three 235 megavolt ampere generators in 2016, Andritz said in a statement on Thursday.
The Upper Kalekoy hydropower plant will generate some 1,470 gigawatt hours of power a year, enough to supply 150,000 households, according to Andritz.
The plant is the second of four HPPs planned on the Murat river. Last year, Andritz received an order to supply three Francis turbines of 176 MW each for the first of these HPPs.
