January 23 (SeeNews) - The Austrian companies operating on the Bulgarian market expect an increase in their turnover and orders in 2018, according to a survey conducted by foreign trade promotion agency Advantage Austria.
As many as 63% of the Austrian companies in Bulgaria increased their turnover and capacity in 2017, Advantage Austria, which represents Austria's Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, said in a statement.
For 66% of Austrian companies in Bulgaria the fight against corruption and crime is was the most pressing problem that the authorities need to tackle. The survey respondents also noted the need for predictable economic policies and legal security, as well as poor infrastructure.
"Bulgaria is attractive to Austrian investors because of its low tax rates and favourable labour costs. However, emigration and lack of skilled labour hamper investment growth," said Ulrikke Straka, commercial sales advisor of the Embassy of Austria in Bulgaria.
