December 12 (SeeNews) - Hamburg-based copper producer Aurubis said that the net profit of its Bulgarian plant, located in the town of Pirdop, fell to 90.7 million euro ($101 million) in its fiscal year 2018/2019, ended September 30, from 121.5 million euro in its previous financial year.
A scheduled maintenance shutdown at the Pirdop site in May and June had a negative effect of 15 million euro on earnings, Aurubis said in an annual financial statement.
In addition, an unplanned shutdowns due to boiler damage affected the plant's production in the first quarter of the company's 2018/2019 fiscal year.
The concentrate throughput of the Bulgarian plant, located in the town of Pirdop, fell by an annual 19% to 849,000 tonnes in fiscal year 2018/2019.
