February 14 (SeeNews) - Hamburg-based Aurubis said that the copper concentrate throughput of its Bulgarian smelter in the town of Pirdop rose by an annual 3% to 333,000 tonnes in the first quarter of its fiscal year 2019/2020, started October 1, after boiler damages affected output in the year-ago period.
Cathode output at Pridop remained unchanged year-on-year at 55,000 t. in the October-December period of 2019, Aurubis said in an interim financial statement.
Sulfuric acid output at Pirdop amounted to 337,000 t in the review period, 12% higher on the year.
The Pirdop smelter is located 80 kilometres east of the capital Sofia.
