March 15 (SeeNews) - Italian power engineering company Ansaldo Energia said on Thursday it signed a 40 million euro ($49.5 million) agreement with Shanghai Electric Europa for the supply of two gas-fired turbines in Serbia.
Ansaldo Energia will deliver two AE64.3A Gas Turbines, WY18Z air-cooled Generators and auxiliary systems for the construction of a combined heat and power (CHP) unit by Shanghai Electric Europa in Pancevo, the Italian company said in a statement.
Serbian oil and gas group NIS [BEL:NIIS] said in November it signed a contract for the construction of a 200 MW CHP plant in Pancevo with Shanghai Electric Group, which will start the construction of the unit in the second quarter of 2018.
A total of 180 million euro will be invested in the construction of the power plant, as the bulk of the funding will be provided by Gazprom, the majority shareholder of NIS.
