January 10 (SeeNews) - AMC Networks International (AMCNI) said it has signed a deal with TV provider United Group that expands its coverage across both cable and Direct-to-Home (DTH) platforms in Southeastern Europe (SEE).
Under the deal, the AMC TV channel is now available in the basic cable package of Serbia Broadband and is offered to Total TV subscribers in Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia, the company said in a statement e-mailed to SeeNews on Tuesday.
Bosnian cable TV provider Telemach will add the Minimax children's channel to their Digital Start package, AMC added.
"We see the Balkan region as one of the fastest growing pay TV markets in Europe and it is a main priority for us to continue the development in this region in 2017,” the President of AMC Networks International, CE & UK, Mike Moriarty, said in the statement.
In October, AMCNI signed a deal with Telekom Austria Group that secures carriage for AMC across all Telekom Austria Group pay TV subscribers in Croatia and Bulgaria.
AMC is now on subscription television platforms in more than 125 countries and territories across Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The channel was launched outside North America in late 2014.
