August 7 (SeeNews) - The operating profit of German financial services group Allianz from its insurance activities in Romania rose to about 12 million euro ($13 million) in the first half of the year, the group said on Friday.
The group’s property/casualty insurance division in Romania recorded an operating profit of 8 million euro, up from 4 million a year earlier, while gross written premiums rose to 106 million euro from 99 million, Allianz said in its first-half financial report.
The combined ratio on the property/casualty segment in Romania fell to 95.7% in the first six months from 101.5% a year ago.
The operating profit from its life/health division in the country rose to 4 million euro from 3 million a year earlier. Life/health insurance statutory premiums rose to 13 million euro from 12 million.
