August 8 (SeeNews) - The operating profit of German financial services group Allianz from its insurance operations in Romania totalled some 7.0 million euro ($9.4 million) in the first half of 2014, the group said on Friday.
The group’s property/casualty insurance division in Romania recorded an operating profit of 4.0 million euro in the first half, up from 2.0 million euro a year earlier, Allianz said in its interim report for the first half of 2014.
Combined ratio in Romania fell to 101.5% through June from 102.9% a year earlier.
The operating profit from its life/health segment in the country rose to 3.0 million euro from 1.0 million a year earlier.
Allianz Group said its property/casualty insurance gross written premiums in Romania rose to 99 million euro in the first six months of 2014 from 93 million euro a year earlier. Life/health insurance statutory premiums decreased to 12 million euro from 13 million euro in the first half of 2013.
