June 5 (SeeNews) - Albania’s vehicle structures manufacturer Timak will launch car production, the company told SeeNews on Monday.
"We will start by producing a super car, and after that, an electric city car," Timak CEO Arjeta Puca told SeeNews by phone.
The high-performance car prototype will be presented within a year and production will commence thereafter.
The project is a public-private partnership between the Albanian government and Timak, prime minister Edi Rama said earlier.
Established in 2016, Timak focuses on production, conversion and installation of superstructures of various vehicles, such as ambulances, fire trucks, water tankers, winter and summer road maintenance vehicles, sewage cleaning machines, pile drivers, mobile truck solutions and other similar conversions, according to its website. It has offices in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Turkey and Montenegro.
In May 2022, Timak handled the conversion of eleven ambulances ordered by the UN which were sent to Ukraine, the company said earlier.
