November 3 (SeeNews) - The Solar Energy of Albania (SENA), owned by Albanian state-owned power utility Korporata Elektroenergjitike Shqiptare (KESH), is inviting proposals for the design, construction and operation of a 12.9 MW floating photovoltaic (PV) plant, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The floating PV plant is planned to be built on the Vau i Dejes lake, close to the namesake hydropower plant, a notice published on the EBRD's e-procurement portal ECEPP showed on Wednesday.
The deadline for submitting proposals is December 22.
Up to 70% of the project will be funded through a loan from the EBRD, whereas the remaining part will be provided by KESH.
The estimated value of the contract was not disclosed.
KESH owns and operates three large hydropower plants with a total capacity of 1,350 MW that produce almost 70% of Albania's electricity.
