TIRANA (Albania), November 24 (SeeNews) – Albania's electricity production increased to 1,280 GWh in the third quarter of 2020, compared with 1,186 GWh in the like period a year earlier, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Albania's power exports rose to 139.1 GWh from 104.9 GWh in the July-September period, whereas imports grew to 665.6 GWh from 771.9 GWh, INSTAT said in a statement.
In the third quarter of 2020, some 76.4% of Albania's electricity output was generated by public hydro plants, 22.8% by independent power producers and 0.8% by other producers.
Grid losses decreased by 5% year-on-year to 325.1 GWh in the third quarter. Distribution losses fell to 286.7 GWh from 301.8 GWh, while transmission losses increased to 38.4 GWh from 40.7 GWh.
