June 8 (SeeNews) - Albania's net electricity production decreased to 2,016 GWh in the first quarter of 2022 from 3,344 GWh a year earlier, the country's statistical office said.
Albania's power exports dropped to 373 GWh in the first three months of 2022 from 1,147 GWh in the January-March period of 2021, whereas imports jumped to 715 GWh from 99 GWh, INSTAT said in a statement.
Some 52.8% of the country's electricity production in the first quarter of 2022 was generated by public hydro plants, 46.7% by independent power producers and 0.5% by other producers.
Grid losses decreased to 582.7 GWh in the first quarter of 2022 from 616.8 GWh in the like period a year earlier. Distribution losses fell to 535 GWh from 542.7 GWh, while transmission losses decreased to 47.7 GWh from 74.1 GWh.
