November 24 (SeeNews) - Albania's electricity production increased to 2,371 GWh in the third quarter of 2021 from 1,280 GWh a year earlier, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
Albania's power exports jumped to 323 GWh from 139 GWh in the July-September period of 2020, whereas imports rose to 975 GWh from 666 GWh, INSTAT said in a statement on Wednesday.
Some 76.3% of the country's electricity production in the third quarter of 2021 was generated by public hydro plants, 22.7% by independent power producers and 1.0% by other producers.
Grid losses increased to 343.4 GWh in the third quarter of 2021 from 324.7 GWh in the like period a year earlier. Distribution losses rose to 298.5 GWh from 286.3 GWh, while transmission losses increased to 44.9 GWh from 38.4 GWh.
