TIRANA (Albania), November 30 (SeeNews) – Albania's state-owned power corporation KESH said it has sold 15,300 MWh of electricity worth 1.1 million euro ($1.3 million) for November 29-30 delivery thanks to plentiful rains.
KESH announced and concluded the auction on November 27, with the highest price offered set as the preferred criteria, according to the final report on bids posted on the corporate website on Wednesday.
Eleven domestic and foreign power suppliers and traders participated in the auction, of which KESH selected three to proceed further: EFT AG, GSA and HSE DOO.
The price range achieved in the auction was 70.50 euro/MWh to 76.00 euro/MWh for the first lot (06:00-23:00 hours).
Almost all of Albania’s electricity is produced by hydro power plants.
