TIRANA (Albania), February 19 (SeeNews) – Albania's state-owned power corporation KESH said on Monday it sold over 1 million MWh of electricity worth 802,186 euro ($995,306) for delivery in the February 10-16 period.
KESH announced and concluded the auction on February 8, with the highest price offered set as the most important criteria, according to the final report on the results of the auction posted on the website of the company.
Seven domestic and foreign power suppliers and traders participated in the auction, as KESH selected six of them: NOA Trade, Network for Trading, Danske Commodities AL, Fuente Dynamics, Interenergo, and EFT.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity at hydro power plants (HPP). Most of it is generated at three power plants along the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
