TIRANA (Albania), December 28 (SeeNews) – Albania's state-owned power corporation KESH said on Thursday it is inviting bids for the export of up to 22,410 MWh of electricity for December 29-31 delivery.
The bidding deadline is December 28 and the preferred criteria will be the highest price offered, KESH said in a request for proposals posted on the corporate website.
The electricity will be offered for delivery in two lots, KESH added.
In the previous auction held on December 18, KESH sold a total of 5,760 MWh of electricity worth 315,377 euro ($372,520) for December 19-22 delivery. The prices achieved in the auction were 47.72 euro/MWh for the first lot, 61.11 euro/MWh to 62.06 euro/MWh for the second lot and 52.1 euro/MWh for the third lot.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity from hydropower plants (HPP), most of it from three power plants along the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
